Due to FPDL Ana and Nicole vision, professionalism and creativity, the innovative and practical approach that treats corruption as a symptom of organizations’ malfunctioning and regards people as basically honest, capable, motivated human beings, knowledgeable about their organizations, was extensively disseminated, attracting the interest and appreciation of mayors, anticorruption professionals and academics from CEE/SEE and beyond. Due to their perseverance and dedication, this “smart skills” anticorruption approach received in 2011 a prestigious international recognition in two local governments applying it: Martin in Slovakia, and Craiova in Romania, Both received the UN Public Service Award – the only two nominations selected from North America and Europe region, under the category „Preventing and combating corruption”.
